Remembering The Dead

Cozumel Día de los Muertos
Death and Mexican art (Painting: Mario Mizrahi).

Cozumel and the rest of Mexico remembered the Day of the Dead - El Día de los Muertos - on the weekend.

The event is held on the first and second day of November each year to celebrate the lives of deceased family members and ancestors.

Although sometimes misconstrued as being morbid by other cultures, the events in Mexico are full of joy and remembrance.
