Island Endurance Test

Cozumel Ironman
Ironman athletic competition.
 

World-famous triathlon athletic competition, Ironman, will come to Cozumel in 2009, announced the organizers earlier this month.

The endurance test of swimming, cycling and running will form part of the Ironman Triathlon World Championship.

Women's Basketball Games

Summit League Champions, the Golden Eagles womenÂ’s basketball team, from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, are playing in Cozumel this weekend.

As part of a Labor Day weekend basketball tour, they will hold a basketball clinic for local children and play against Mexico's state-select Merida team on Saturday.

Cozumel is getting ready for Mexican Independence Day next Tuesday, September 16th.

The annual celebration marks the Grito de Dolores, a call for Mexicans to rise up against the Spanish, made by Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in 1810.
