Cozumel and the rest of Mexico will end Daylight Savings Time this weekend, a week ahead of the equivalent clock change in the United States and Canada. This means, just for next week, Cozumel will be an extra hour behind, something visitors may find useful to know - especially those arriving on a cruise. So, from October 30 to November 6, 2011, the island will be one hour behind CST and two hours behind EST. |
Cruise ship passengers should note that different cruise lines have different ways of deciding what time their cruise ships take.
Carnival cruise ships, for example, always go with the time of their homeport and stick with it, whereas Norwegian cruise ships usually change their onboard time during the voyage, to match the local port they are arriving to.
The itineraries they give passengers display ship times, so cruisers should remember this isn't necessarily the same as Cozumel time.
