According to the American Resort Development Association, a high 80.3 per cent of all owners express satisfaction with their vacation ownership purchase.

4.4 million Americans own timeshare weeks at over 1,600 resorts and the median household income for timeshare owners is $81,000, according to the association's own figures.

New Luxury Resort To Open In January 2008

President of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Peter Strebel, said this week that the group's new 'boutique all-inclusive' in Cozumel would open in January 2008.

In an exclusive interview with This is Cozumel, he said the resort will be called the "Aura Cozumel".

Mexican Homebuilding "Booming"

The Mexican homebuilding industry is "booming" said Fitch Ratings, in a report released at the end of last month.

The New York and London based financial experts said that the Mexican government has helped the sector and that further growth could be expected.

They reported that housing is one of the country's most "dynamic industries", transformed over the past few years by a developing Mexican mortgage market.

Local Real Estate 'Summit' Planned

Real estate in Mexico
Mexican Caribbean real estate event.
  Atlas Legal, a US conference organizer, will be holding a 'summit' for the real estate market in Playa del Carmen, near Cozumel, next month.

They have held other property events in Mexico in the past, but this is the first that will focus on the Mexican Caribbean.
