Now wheelchair users can go to the beach with everyone else, on our Cozumel Accessible Beach Tour.
You'll be picked up from your accommodation or cruise ship pier in a fully accessible private van with lift, which can take up to 8 people in total, including 2 wheelchair users.
After a short, smooth transfer you'll be at Chankanaab, an accessible beach park with much more than beach.
At the park entrance is included as well as a sea lion show, full Mexican buffet lunch with 2 drinks, access to all the facilities and snorkel gear. If you'd like a snorkel guide just ask and - subject to availability - they'll be pleased to show you the best spots to snorkel too.
Beach wheelchairs are included on a first come, first served basis too. Even without a beach wheelchair, there are ramps or firm ground that let you get right up to a shady spot on the edge of the sand in a regular wheelchair too, so everyone can sit together and enjoy beach time together.
The snorkel guides will also be happy to show you the wheelchair access to the water for wheelchair users that want to try snorkeling. We don't guarantee all wheelchair users will be able to enter the water as it depends on their level of mobility and conditions on the day, but the staff will do their best to help and make it happen.
As well as the beach and snorkeling you can also enjoy learning about Mayan culture and history as you explore the jungle area with replica ruins.
Here you'll find wooden huts where you can try corn tortillas hand-made using centuries old traditional techniques and learn more interesting facts about local history and culture.
Don't miss the famous sea lion show either, when you arrive they will let you know the times of the performances.
You can stay as long as you like at the beach. When you arrive you'll let your driver know what time you want to be picked up afterwards and an accessible van will be waiting for you to take you back.
This is a wonderful way for the whole family to visit the beach and have an amazing day out together!
