A new twice daily air shuttle was launched, last week, connecting Merida, Cancun and Cozumel. The 36 seat flights from local airline, Mayair, will make it much easier to visit the beautiful Yucatan city of Merida from the island. |
The new route is in addition to the numerous existing daily "bridge" flights between Cozumel and Cancun.

"We're betting on success" said, Jaime Valenzuela Tamarís, director of the company that will operate the route, at the inaugural flight event. He said there is one flight, starting from Cozumel, in the morning and one in the afternoon. |
They stop in Cancun before continuing to Merida, and then do the same on the way back.
Fares start from $120 USD one way between Cozumel and Merida.
Total flight time from Cozumel to Merida is 1 hour 45 minutes, departing from Cozumel at 7.15am and 6pm daily.
