The tour by air has its meeting point at Cozumel Airport between 8.30am and 9.30am, depending on the time of year and reservations received. This early departure gives you the chance to reach the Chichen Itza ruins before the crowds get there.

It is also ideal for cruise ship passengers in Cozumel for one day. Later departure times and shorter tours are available upon request to fit with cruise ship schedules.

The tour starts at Cozumel airport, which is easy to get to by taxi from anywhere on the island, from there you take off with a scenic flight over the Yucatan Peninsula in a small aircraft.

Chichen Itza by air
Scenic 45 minute flight is a great alternative (actual plane may vary).

You will fly low enough to enjoy spectacular views. A close flyover of the ruins can't always be guaranteed as it depends on conditions and air traffic control on the day, but the pilot will always try to get you as good an aerial view as possible before landing at Chichen Itza's airport, where you will be transferred to the ruins for an unforgettable guided tour.

After the ruins you enjoy the cenote and lunch, before returning to the airfield for your flight to Cozumel, arriving back on the island around 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

“Chichen Itza from Cozumel by air”

What a wonderful day ! communication in advance was excellent, clear explanation of where to meet, airplane waiting and then cabs waiting when we got to the Chichen Itza airport. Cab drivers handed us off to the tour guide at Chichen Itza, he was excellent. Cabs still waiting for us, an the way back to the airport, a stop at Ik Kil cenote for a delicious lunch and a swim in the cenote. Cabs were waiting and took us back to the airport. It was so worth the extra expense to fly rather than take the time for the bus trip, we arrived before the crowds and before the hottest part of the day. The flight itself was fun, scenery is beautiful crossing the water and then the jungle. Thanks !
