The final 4 nights of Cozumel's Carnival saw spectacular technicolour processions along Cozumel's downtown seafront. People lined the street, dancing with the performers and catching the gifts that were showered on them.
After the seafront extravaganza, the music kept playing and parties continued well into the night. Costumed revellers battled in dancing competitions and bands played live music around the city.
The 'Fat Tuesday' parade was the last of the main events and the fiesta was brought to an official close yesterday, with the ritual burning of 'Juan Carnaval'.
