A rare deep water fish has been discovered by divers in Cozumel, said the island's Marine Park this week. Sadly already dead, the Oarfish - Regalecus Glesne - was found by Omar Gómez, from Deep Exposure divers, at a depth of 40m (130ft) in the Paraiso Reef area off the south west coast of the island.

The Park said that Oarfishes hold the Guinness record for being the longest vertabrate fish. They can grow up to 17m (55ft) in length and live at depths as great as 1000m (3300ft).
