If you're arriving to Cozumel via Tulum, or staying on the island and want to visit Tulum, check out our new private charter flights.
Tulum international airport is an increasingly popular way to fly in to the Mexican Caribbean and on to Cozumel, and these private air charters are by far the quickest and most convenient way to get to the island. Or if you're simply staying in Cozumel and want a VIP trip to Tulum, it's a fast comfortable option with the superb aerial sights to see.
The small aircraft fly between Tulum airport and Cozumel airport in around 45 minutes.
You'll have fantasic panaromic views as you fly over the Caribbean coast and sea. A wonderful way to arrive to the island and start your vacation or to make a trip while you're already here.
The alternative is a ground transfer to/from Playa del Carmen and then the ferry, which can take many many hours*.
If you're landing in Tulum after 7pm, then flying is usually the only way you can guarantee getting to the island the same day too. (The latest ferries normally depart at 10pm and getting through Tulum airport and transferring to the ferry can typically take 2½ hours.)
The aircraft can take 2 or 3 passengers with 1 suitcase and 1 piece of hand luggage each, or up to 4 or 5 passengers if you have light luggage. If you'd like to check if you will fit okay, or if you are more people and need a larger aircraft, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.
Or, if your budget won't stretch to a private air charter and you don't mind the longer trip, then we also offer Tulum airport transfers by van.
* The ground transfer from Tulum airport to the ferry can take 1-1½ hours; the ferries depart every 30-60 minutes; and the crossing takes about 45 minutes. So, depending on your luck with connections, the total transfer time by ferry typically takes anything between about 2½ hours and 4 hours. By air it is around 45 minutes.
