Departing at 9am or 12 noon, this charming new 3 hour Cozumel bus tour is a relaxed, unrushed way to see the highlights of the historic town of San Miguel, with spare time for strolling and shopping round the main square.

Led by professional, English-speaking guides, you'll have plenty of opportunities to hear about the island's history and culture, as well as free time to get those authentic souvenirs you've been looking for in the local stores around the main plaza.

Drive along the oceanfront in the classic trolley bus making stops at the monument to the Mayan goddess Ixchel. A few steps away you can also see the fascinating San José del Mar church. It was recently built to commemorate the first mass held on the island, said to have been more than 500 years ago.

A little further along the beachfront you'll learn out about the US air force connection to the island's military base, and take irresistible Instagram snaps with the snarling fighter planes grounded outside.

You also have the option to try some tequila for free by the downtown plaza before having about 45 minutes to explore the stores and stalls dotted around the pretty tree-lined square.

Don't miss the chance for selfies by the colorful Cozumel sign and giant Mexican flag, then it's time to hop back on the trolley bus and return back along the bay of San Miguel.

The bus tour starts and finishes at the cruise terminals, making this a really convenient way to get into town and have a fun and informative day sightseeing and shopping.
