Cozumel time zone

The new time zone in the south-east of Mexico means Cozumel will not change the clocks this fall.

Although the clocks will go back one hour to end Mexican Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 2am in most of the rest of Mexico, in the new South-East Time Zone where Cozumel, Cancun and Playa del Carmen are located, they will remain the same.

This means Cozumel will be one hour ahead of Mexico City, Merida and Chichen Itza from that moment.

Cozumel clocktower

Relative to the U.S., Cozumel and the south-east of Mexico will continue to be on U.S. Central Time until October 31, 2015 (during U.S. Daylight Saving Time) and then change to U.S. Eastern Time from November 1, 2015 when the clocks go back in the U.S. for winter time.
