Autism Awareness Raised

 

Hearts Abroad wrapped up a successful one day event to raise awareness of autism in Cozumel on Saturday.

Ariana Iacobucci, founder of the non-profit organization and mother of a child with autism, said that the conference was a "dream come true".

Declaration Of Art

 

Americans and others in Cozumel may want to celebrate the US Declaration of Independence tomorrow, artistically.

Island animal charity, the Humane Society, will raise money by selling art at a July 4th auction downtown.

Talented local artists will donate one of their creations for the auction and have booths set up to display and sell their works.

Wider Pier, Bigger Ships

  Plans are underway to widen one of Cozumel's piers to receive the next generation of giant "Project Genesis" cruise ships.

Once modified, the SSA International Pier will be ready to receive the 5,400 passenger Oasis of the Seas ship, which starts operating in May 2010.

Vacation Owners "Satisfied"

According to the American Resort Development Association, a high 80.3 per cent of all owners express satisfaction with their vacation ownership purchase.

4.4 million Americans own timeshare weeks at over 1,600 resorts and the median household income for timeshare owners is $81,000, according to the association's own figures.
