The governor of the state of Quintana Roo, Roberto Borge Angulo, told local media, earlier this month, that new direct flights will start between Cozumel and Mexico City on July 1, 2011. * UPDATE: flights will now start June 30.* |
There will be at least 4 flights a week to start with, operated by Mexican airline, Interjet.
They will use Airbus 320 aircraft with space for 150 passengers, flying Mexico City-Cozumel-Mexico City every Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday, and possibly Saturday too.
The price is expected to be about the same as Interjet's Mexico City-Cancun-Mexico City route, as the distance is similar. Interjet already connects more than 20 destinations in Mexico with flights via its hubs in Mexico City and Toluca airports. |
