If you want to take part in the Cozumel Carnival 2010 parades, now is the time to register!
The island's Municipal Government, said yesterday, that those who want to take part in the themed processions along Cozumel's seafront can register at City Hall.
The biggest 3 nights of parades for Carnival this year are Saturday, February 13th; Sunday, February 14 and Tuesday, February 16th, 2010.
Carnival Parade Coordinator, David Domínguez Povedano, said that the parades will start at 6pm from the Convention Center on the seafront next to the Chedraui supermarket.
They will go north along the seafront as far north as the Airport Boulevard, before turning around and going back to where they started.
Floats and participants should be at the Cozumel Carnival starting point one or two hours beforehand in order to get into position.
The island's head of culture, Minerva Marí Hadad, said participants can include individuals and businesses, from hotels, restaurants, sports clubs, constructors, dive shops, bars and more.

She added, "All the floats will need to have a representative, name, lighting and good sound equipment".

The categories are:
- Small (10ft/3m or less)
- Medium (10-23ft/3-7m)
- Large (23ft/7m or more)

Every year thousands more participants dress up and join in the dancing on the night.
