Some fantastic vacation deals to Cozumel have been announced recently to help you escape the crisis at home. The economic turmoil also means the dollar buys you 20 percent more Mexican pesos than earlier this year, so there's never been a better time to visit!

Sandy Babin, Vice President of Marketing at Apple Vacations in the USA, said their 'SuperSale' - which finishes in just 2 days - allows consumers to keep their vacation plans "without giving up the things they love."

Apple's rival, Funjet, is also tempting vacationers to Cozumel with special flight and hotel deals. Andrea Kozek, spokesperson for Funjet, said they have 3 night all-inclusive deals from some US cities starting as low as $700 per person.

Carnival offering discounted cruises.

For those that just wish to fly to Cozumel and arrange their own accommodation, American Airlines is offering special fares from $225 each way out of Chicago O'Hare airport. The special price is valid for travel beginning December 1, 2008 thru February 26, 2009.

Or, if you prefer to arrive to Cozumel by sea, Carnival cruiselines are also offering 4 day cruises out of Miami in mid-December that stop in Key West and Cozumel for as little $149 a person.
