World-famous athletic competition, Ironman, will take place for the second time in Cozumel on November 28, 2010.
Cozumel Ironman 2010 will be an endurance test of swimming, cycling and running, and forms part of the Ironman World Series.

The Ironman World Championship was started in Hawaii in 1978 and has grown in popularity year-on-year.
Almost 2,000 competitors crossed the finish line from 37 different countries in the 2009 Cozumel event.
Cozumel Ironman 2010 will include qualifying slots for the 2011 Ford Ironman World Championship.

In Cozumel in 2009, the 2.4 mile (3.86 km) swim began at the island's Chankanaab Park. Athletes experienced a picturesque swim with colorful fish and coral reefs during the two-loop course.
Following the first grueling challenge was a 112 mile (180.2 km) cycle race on the roads around Cozumel, before finishing with a 26.2 mile (42.4 km) run, encompassing the downtown center of Cozumel.
