The number of Brits coming to Cozumel on vacation continues to increase. Earlier this month, British travel operator, First Choice, doubled the frequency of its London flights to the island and added a new route from Manchester in the north of England too.

Holiday Village White Sands

Ian Davis, spokesperson for First Choice in the United Kingdom, said that Cozumel was proving popular with British vacationers looking for "the ultimate in diving experiences or some quality relaxation time."

Last year First Choice struck a deal with the Occidental Grand hotel and rebranded it the "Holiday Village White Sands".

They now have almost exclusive rights to occupancy and can sell more Cozumel vacation packages in the British market.

Davis said, "So far our flights are proving very popular, with our aircraft around 95-98% full and some flights up to 100% capacity."

The new flights will only come to Cozumel in the summer season since the Holiday Village White Sands is only open from May to October.
