Local realtor, RE/MAX Complete, promoted the island in Las Vegas last week. James Watts, head of the local franchise, attended the organization's international convention to look for new markets.

The RE/MAX International Convention in Las Vegas marked the real estate franchise's 35th anniversary.

James explained that he is receiving more and more interest from new markets in Europe and Asia now, citing the example of German RE/MAX agents that hope to bring buyers on 'real estate tours' to Cozumel.

Around 5,000 real estate agents from 55 countries around the world attended the convention.

Founded in 1973, RE/MAX has a global network with over 7,000 offices in more than 65 countries.

RE/MAX Complete in Cozumel was founded by James and his mother Henny, both originally from Canada, in 2004.
