Cozumel's Carnival King and Queen were crowned at the Grand Opening ceremony on Wednesday night.
The coronation of their Highnesses King Jalil Martín Gaeta and Queen Andrea Chacón Núñez officially marks the beginning of Carnival events.
Cozumel is once again wrapped in a frenzy of music and dancing!

Visitors to the island can enjoy the week long extravaganza, with costumed revellers battling in dancing competitions and bands playing live music around the city.
Tonight, the first Carnival Parade will pass along the seafront. People line the streets, dancing with the performers and catching the gifts that are showered upon them.
Sunday and Monday nights see more parades along the island's promenade, before the grand finale on Fat Tuesday night.
The last seafront pass by the crazy Carnaveleros is always a massive event, with the fiesta continuing into the small hours.
