New Luxury Resort To Open In January 2008 |

President of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Peter Strebel, said this week that the group's new 'boutique all-inclusive' in Cozumel would open in January 2008.
In an exclusive interview with This is Cozumel, he said the resort will be called the "Aura Cozumel".

Mr. Strebel said the concept of the Aura is "ultra-luxury" and will include an 8,000 square foot spa, mini shopping center, ocean view suites and plasma TVs in every room.

The group's publicity says the new resort "stylishly incorporates world-class facilities, distinctive artwork and materials, and an extensive menu of activities all in a uniquely chic environment."
Earlier this year, Wyndham signed a franchise agreement with what used to be known as the Cozumel Reef Club.
Larger than the Aura with 402 rooms, it has now been renamed the Wyndham Cozumel Resort and Spa. The new Aura is being built next door on the same part of Cozumel's south west coast

The Aura will be the group's 14th property in Mexico, they also have hotels and resorts in: Acapulco, Mexico City, Manzanillo, Puerto Penasco, Puerto Vallarta, the Riviera Maya and San Jose del Cabo.
