Chankanaab Park
, one of Cozumel's most popular attractions, could open again in June, said Angel Pavía, spokesperson for Cozumel Parks and Museums Foundation, in an interview with thisiscozumel.com this week.
Delays have meant the Park could not re-open as soon as hoped, but the Foundation will publicly announce the definitive re-opening date at the beginning of June, said Mr. Pavía.
The dolphin attraction within the Park is run as a separate commercial concern - a countdown sign outside says they will re-open on July 7.
The famous lagoon has already been cleaned up and other planned improvements include a hammock area, spa, aquarium, better wheelchair access and a children's zone with games.
