Cozumel is getting ready for more than 1,000 cruise professionals and politicians to visit next week, as part of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association's Annual Cruise Conference and Trade Show.

Twelve member cruise lines will attend along with other industry partners.

Subjects under discussion will include marketing, shore excursions and operations.

FCCA President, Michele Paige, said the event will provide a "superb forum to cruise industry partners for the exchange of information, sharing of ideas and cultivation of valuable business relationships."

Premier of Nevis, Joseph Parry, will lead his island's delegation to the conference, said SKNVibes news on Wednesday. The St. Kitts and Nevis website reported the island leader saying, "the one-on-one meetings with the top cruise executives of the industry will be an excellent opportunity".

Conference events are being held October 8-12 at a number of island locations, including the Wyndham Cozumel Resort and Spa (formerly Reef Club Cozumel) and the Occidental Grand hotel.

As well as exhibition stands there will be one-to-one meetings, presentations, round table discussions and a golf tournament.

The FCCA's 12 members are: Carnival Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Costa Cruise Lines, Disney Cruise Line, Holland America Line, MSC Cruises (USA) Inc., Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Royal Caribbean International.
