A number of exhibitions, an auction and a new website are being launched by the art community in Cozumel this May and June. The Humane Society of Cozumel is holding its 9th Annual Art Exhibition and Auction on June 30 at the Hotel Casa Mexicana - a portion of the proceeds benefits their animal shelter.
Cozumel artist Galo Ramirez has an exhibition of nude paintings at the University in Cozumel, for 2 weeks starting this evening. An exhibition of his abstract art also opens in the Bodeguita del Medio bar and restaurant on May 29 and he will be displaying more paintings in the Forum shops building on the seafront from June 12.
Acclaimed local painter Mario Mizrahi also launched his website and art gallery during May. His delightful, colorful Caribbean-Mexican style has impressed locals for years and he now hopes to reach more people overseas with his online presence.
