Real estate agents are in the process of re-assessing the market in Cozumel, but the market was booming and can hopefully withstand a shock like Wilma with only short-term effects.
James Watts, of RE/MAX real estate, said sellers that were asking a high price before may now have to settle for something more realistic. He added that he expects the market to rebound quickly as the island makes fast progress and new construction projects continue at a rapid pace.
Of the island's realtors, the RE/MAX office re-opened last week and Coldwell Banker will fully re-open this week.
