Cozumel airport transfers
Arrivals at Cozumel Airport.
Many island visitors fly to Cozumel's own international airport or to Cancun Airport on the coast.

thisiscozumel.com takes a look at the best ways for you to get from the airport to your final destination.

If you fly into Cozumel you will find a taxi desk in the arrivals area. They will call you a comfortable, mini-van taxi that you can share with other groups (colectivo) or take privately.

For ultimate peace of mind and comfort you can also book round trip transfers in advance. Or if you want to save money, walk about 500m (550 yds) across the parking lot to the road outside the airport and wait to hail a normal white with red-stripe taxi.

From Cancun Airport, you can take a bus or taxi to Playa del Carmen down the coast to the south. The trip takes about 30-40 minutes, or a little longer if you're in a shared colectivo bus.

In Playa del Carmen, the bus or taxi will drop you about 800m (875 yds) from the ferry pier. Porters in the form of men on tricycles are available for a tip. The ferry crossing takes about 40 minutes. When you arrive in Cozumel more porters are on hand and plenty of taxis at the entrance to the pier.
