A new direct flight route to Cozumel from Denver, Colorado started last Saturday. Frontier Airlines now flies to the island departing from Denver mid-morning every Saturday. John Happ, spokesman for Frontier, said he was confident Cozumel would be "one of the top choices" for his customers.
Raul Marrufo, head of the Cozumel Tourism Promotion Board, said the flight should be particularly popular due to the large numbers of scuba enthusiasts in Denver that want to travel to Cozumel to dive.
