Some good deals are available and foreign interest in Cozumel's property market remains strong, say real estate agents on the island.
James Watts from RE/MAX Complete said that although listed prices haven't come down, the price some sellers are prepared to accept has, resulting in negotiated deals going through below the original asking price. This means if you're prepared to haggle, there are some good deals to be made.
Coldwell Banker said local investors continue to look for vacant land on the island and foreigners who were interested in purchasing real estate prior to Wilma still show strong interest now. Cozumel Living realtors have a list of hurricane specials. They said that many homes were only slightly affected and that construction on the island is "incredibly strong".
