Cruise Ships Boost Economy |

1,000s of tourists that arrived on the first 5 cruise ships this week brought a much-needed cash boost of around $800,000 US, said Mexican daily Por Esto! yesterday.
The paper said that although many cruise ship passengers went on tours with the island's bigger monopolies, plenty were also going downtown to buy souvenirs. Some business owners in the city centre were reported to say that the economic recovery of the island is "going splendidly".
