Peace Voyage Sets Sail From Cozumel

A message of peace to the world left Cozumel on its 4½ month sea voyage to Greece and back, via 15 ports in North America, Europe and Africa, at the end of last month.

The magnificent wooden trimaran, Zamná, set sail from Cozumel and made its first stop in Miami.

Florida's sunshine city met the vessel with roaring fanfare as part of the Festival México-Miami, which marks the anniversaries of Mexico's revolution and independence.

Ride The Americas To Cozumel

16,000 miles is a long way, especially for one man on a motorbike.

But that's the distance island scuba instructor, Tony Anschutz, plans to ride, in a zigzag route taking him from Colorado, via Canada and Alaska, all the way across Mexico to Cozumel.

Cozumel Kid's Voyage Of Peace

An incredible wooden trimaran ship, built in Veracruz, Mexico, will visit Cozumel later this month on an international voyage of peace.

One lucky child from the island will be chosen to embark on the sailing, that will deliver messages of goodwill to 16 different ports in the USA and Europe.

Named "Zamná" after an ancient Mayan high priest, the 3 hulled maritime masterpiece left its shipyard in Alvarado, Veracruz at the end of July.

Tulum Airport Plans Revealed

Newspaper reports have revealed details of the proposed new Tulum airport, on the Riviera Maya near Cozumel, including the date the project will be put out to tender.

Local politicians have described the project as an "economic trigger" for the development of tourism on the mainland.
