Big groups are being seen around the tip of the Yucatan peninsula, about 75 miles (120 km) from Cozumel.

Cozumel saw a jump in visitors in June, as the number of passengers through the island's airport increased 21% compared with the same month last year.
The news comes just a day after the Mexican government also announced a rise of 5% in international visitors arriving to the country by air in the first 5 months of 2012.
ASUR, the company that owns Cozumel airport, said, today, that a total of 43,587 passengers came through the terminal in June 2012, compared with 36,020 in June 2011. |

These cute looking fellows are close relatives of the White-Nosed Coati (Nasua narica) that lives nearby on the mainland.
Similar to some other local mammals, isolation on the island has led them to evolve into a distinct breed (Nasua nelsoni) that is only found in Cozumel. |
