Hard Rock Café

Possibly the smallest Hard Rock café in the world!

Great for food, drink and - of course - music. Complementing the usual rock music paraphernalia is an original ceiling mural of a vast underwater setting.

Location: On the seafront downtown (Av. Melgar), between the Main Square and Calle 2, in front of the ferry pier.

Telephone: 872-5271.

Email: lmiranda [at] grupoece.com

Opening hours: 10am - 1am, daily.

Neptuno Dance Club

Named after the Roman God of the Sea, Neptuno Dance Club is on two levels with a state-of-the-art sound system and flat screens dotted around.

Bar prices are reasonable and the music plays into the small hours on weekends. If you want to dance, this is the place to be.

Location: half a block back from the seafront on Avenida 11.

Sr. Frogs

Señor Frog's is a 100% Mexican bar, nightclub and restaurant, the personality and subtle humor of its founder, Carlos Anderson, is apparent in every detail.

The owners advertise it as a place where people of all backgrounds hang together, dance, sing and basically act the way they want without worrying about silly rules and regulations.

They celebrate music with live bands, staff shows, choreographed songs, and trademark routines. It is pro-active and interactive and everybody gets in the act. There's also Tex-Mex restaurant and souvenir store.

Note: Señor Frog's was previously upstairs at the same location and downstairs was Carlos'n Charlies, which belonged to the same owners. Today, Carlos'n Charlies has gone and Señor Frogs has moved downstairs, but there is still a Carlos 'n Charlies Beach Club on the south-west coast.

Location: downtown seafront (Melgar) between 7th and 11th Streets, next to Punta Langosta.

Phone: 987 869 1651
